Dr. Yu Chi Kao, MD
Dr. Kao graduated with a degree in medicine from National Taiwan University, and completed his resident training in 1990. Due to his expertise in family medicine, just two years later Dr. Kao was appointed as attending physician in the National Taiwan University Hospital. Over the past two decades he has become a widely known family practitioner.
However, his own personal health challenges made him realize that mainstream medicine didn’t have all the answers, and so he became interested in a more integrative approach. He attended his first Functional Medicine training course in 2004, and received his Cum Lord in clinical metal Toxicology certification examination in 2007.
In order to help people who suffer from allergies, Dr. Kao received his training courses in Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET) in 2014, having studied with some of the leading experts of NAET in the U.S., Japan, and Taiwan. He has also served as a Licensed Acupuncturist since 2012.
Dr. Kao through his many years as a family practitioner believes personalized attention to every person's unique needs is the key to successful healing, and he looks to bring that philosophy of wellness to his practice of integrative medicine.
Jeffrey H. Mindich CAc, CFT
Jeffrey initially came to Taiwan to further his studies after having graduated from the first accredited school for acupuncture in the U.S., the New England School of Acupuncture. In Taiwan, Jeffrey did advanced studies with such masters as Dr. Wei-jie Young, learning not only acupuncture and herbs, but also health and longevity practices of the ancient Chinese masters.
“Disease enters through the mouth” is a centuries old Chinese saying that acknowledges the role of diet in health. To further his understanding in that area, Jeffrey graduated from the program in nutrition established by Dr. T. Colin Campbell, considered by many the "Einstein of nutrition” in cooperation with Cornell University, and counsels people on proper diet and nutrition.
Jeffrey also believes in the importance of proper movement rather than just “exercise,” and has studied with such internationally recognized teachers as Frank Wildman, Perry Nickelston, and Eric Goodman. The latter is the founder of the technique known as Foundation Training, of which Jeffrey is the only officially certified teacher in the Greater China region.
Accomplished in many different disciplines, including many years of experience with aromatherapy, Jeffrey is passionate about helping people learn how to be happier and healthier through lifestyle and diet, and correcting movement and postural dysfunctions that impact overall wellness.
