The first step on the journey of healing begins with trying to understand the root of the problem. This involves not only spending time to get to know you and your personal situation, but also a variety of examinations and cutting edge lab analyses that allow us to understand exactly what is going on inside your body. These include a complete metabolic profile, extensive blood panels, allergy testing, stress testing, mineral and toxic metal testing, quantum testing, etc., to name just a few. All of these tests are non-invasive, and without side effects. We take all the information we get from these tests, and like the pieces of a puzzle, put them together to get a comprehensive picture of your health. This goes far beyond the allopathic approach of dealing with symptoms only. Most importantly, good holistic health management shouldn’t be a shot in the dark or a generic template for everyone, and the personalized health assessment makes sure you receive protocols geared specifically for your personal condition.

The old adage “you are what you eat” is as true today as it was when it was first coined. Or, as the old Chinese saying goes, “disease comes in through the mouth.” Good health and weight management begins with proper dietary practices. As waistlines expand, and health declines, many experts have pointed to our diets as a major culprit. For those in the developed world, we are bombarded with an unprecedented choice of what to eat, making the proper choices about what to eat confusing for many people. Our goal is to first give you a solid knowledge of dietary principles based on the most current understanding of healthy nutrition. Most importantly, we provide personalized, hands-on guidance to make it easy to put those principles into practice. Eating to maintain health and proper weight need not be difficult and challenging. In addition, certain lifestyle changes can be simple to make, but profoundly improve our health and well-being.
For many people, taking nutritional supplements has become as common as eating and drinking. It is true most of the food we eat nowadays is grown in mineral depleted soil, and that modern lifestyles are also not conducive to proper nutrition, with people often skipping meals or eating rushed and under stress. However, will taking supplements indiscriminately really making us healthier? Or, could they actually cause harm by disrupting our delicate internal balance? At Nourishing Harmony we don’t believe in a machine gun approach. Through precision and science-based testing we determine what deficiencies you have, and if those can’t be corrected through dietary means, we provide only the most essential and correct supplementation. Taking too many, or the wrong supplements, can be as bad as not taking ones you need. We look to avoid that undesirable outcome.
Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques, or NAET for short, it is a non-invasive, drug free, natural solution to alleviate allergies of all types and intensities. It was developed by Dr. Devi S. Nambudripad more than three decades ago. Allergies go far beyond skin rashes or respiratory discomfort, the most common associations people have with allergies, and can have a wide-ranging impact on our health. NAET uses a blend of selective energy balancing, testing and treatment procedures from acupuncture/acupressure, allopathy, chiropractic, nutritional, and kinesiological disciplines of medicine. The NAET procedure is simple and painless. It can be used to alleviate not only the symptoms of individual food allergens, but a wide range of environmental allergens as well. Dr. Kao is an accomplished NAET practitioner, having studied with some of the leading experts of NAET in the U.S., Japan, and Taiwan.
Electromagnetism from the earth is as important to our survival as air and water. Tests on animals have shown that depriving them of these electromagnetic fields create serious health problems. Foundation Training, or FT as it is called for short, consists of a number of movements that are simple to learn and easy to do, but can have a profound effect on reintegrating and realigning the structure of our body, especially the important posterior chain. FT is especially applicable to modern lifestyles, where people sit in chairs hours a day, seriously impacting their health. FT has been found to help everything from bad backs and bum knees, to boosting overall health and improving athletic performance. In fact, even some premier athletes practice it. At the most basic level, what Foundation Training does is allows us to re-learn how to use our bodies. Jeffrey Mindich is the only certified teacher of FT in the Greater China area. While Jeffrey teaches public classes, for people with issues that go beyond general health maintenance, private one-on-one sessions can help speed the process of overcoming those issues.
Studies have been done that show our posture has a direct influence on our overall health. Certainly, poor posture is a key factor in many different types of pain such as knee and back pain, and can also make us more susceptible to injury. At Nourishing Harmony, we don’t determine the quality of your posture by some subjective assessment, but by state-of-the art techniques endorsed by the U.S.’s National Posture Institute. A picture is worth a thousand words, and your posture will be photographed and analyzed. When the extent of the problem is determined, we have numerous protocols, first and foremost Foundation Training, but others as well. Through these we will help you to correct your postural dysfunction, allowing you to move more normally, and enjoy a structural integrity that will go a long way towards keeping you out of pain.
Stress relief protocols
While the word “stress” conjures up negative thoughts and images, it is in fact an inescapable part of our lives, and always has been. The problem isn’t the stress, but how we react to and deal with it. It is only when stress exceeds our ability to cope with it that it becomes destructive. Regardless of whether or not one feels “stressed out,” it can often be difficult for us to know how well we are actually coping with stress physiologically. So we use a completely objective and non-invasive technique known as heart rate variability (HRV) to assess your level of stress. Based on that assessment we can recommend a variety of simple but effective stress reduction protocols, including MBSR or MBCT. To compliment that, we may also have specific lifestyle and dietary recommendations that can further reduce the destructive effects of stress on the body and mind.
Within the confines of our busy daily lives, it sometimes becomes difficult to give our health the amount of attention it deserves. We end up rushing from one deadline to another, not eating properly, ignoring to exercise, and over stressing ourselves both physically and emotionally. Over time, toxicity, not to mention extra weight, can build up in our bodies, making us less happy and productive, and affecting our health. Sometimes what we need is to leave our daily routine and give our bodies and minds a chance to return to a healthier and more balanced state. With that end in mind, Nourishing Harmony will be arranging detox retreats to exclusive retreat centers in Southeast Asia. Special programs, catering to individual needs from weight loss and detoxing to stress release, will be arranged. Many who come back from such retreats say they do so feeling like a new person.
